How long have you been stitching? Since 1981
When did you join EGA? I think 1998
Your favorite type of stitching? I love cross stitch and needlepoint. Needlepoint gives you quicker gratification and you get to use a great variety of fibers. Cross stitching is great because you can "nestle" into your chair and relax as you stitch (lots more frogging with cross stitching, lol). Both are very therapeutic. If I have to pick a favorite, I'll go with cross stitch (it was my "first love").
Your favorite project? I have many! But quite a few years back, I stitched an "open" house (where you can see all the rooms) that was designed by Gay Ann Rogers. It called for ONE color, and I got creative and used multiple colors. It was so fun and I love it "to this day".

Have you started your ornament exchange project? The holiday party will take place on Wednesday, December 3rd. Your ornament can celebrate any holiday: Christmas, Hanukkah, 4th of July, etc... Remember that your packaging should reflect the holiday your ornament is commemorating.
In August, several of our members gathered for a day of uninterrupted stitching. There is just something about spending the day with like minded people who share a common interest! A big thank you to Clare who graciously welcomed us into her home.
A couple of weeks ago, Clare had the opportunity to join a virtual Zoom meeting with the Embroiderers’ Guild of America (EGA) Special Interest Group (SIG) for cross-stitch. This SIG was formed for the purpose of bringing together stitchers who share a love of cross-stitching within the broader guild.
During the meeting, mention was made of a brand-new Flosstube video on YouTube. The video offers an interesting look at attendees and the projects they’ve received in classes at EGA’s regional and national conferences over the years. Many of the pieces are still works in progress, but that’s part of the charm—celebrating the joy of the process, the chance to learn new skills, and the friendships built along the way. The Flosstube is designed to spark excitement for upcoming conferences and to inspire stitchers everywhere to keep exploring new techniques and enjoying our craft together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6i8PHeo9qw0

Our July meeting marked Vintage Stitchers' 30th Anniversary! Each member was gifted a charm to commemorate the event.
A big thank you to Barbara who hosted the meeting at her home!

Bev, Debbie, Karen, Amy and Barbara volunteered for this year's Sheep Shearing Day held at Forest Home Farm. Karen designed the stitchable greeting cards. All 38 kits were used by both kids and adults alike. Each was stitched on site and then assembled by the volunteers. Everyone had lots of fun and many kids wanted to give their cards to their moms for Mother's Day.
